Therapy
Many of us have experienced a moment when every fibre of our being feels alive and resonant with all that’s around us. Rumi calls these “moments of intensified sky”. In my bodywork practice, I approach each session as an opportunity to enter into those peak moments, guiding our experience into the realm of connection, balance, and awareness. Tensions ease and melt away as the body becomes transported to a state of total relaxation. The busy mind shuts off, allowing the body-mind to be heard.
Receiving bodywork is an opportunity to access deeper places inside. I consider a session to be a relationship between myself, you, (the client), and Spirit or Life energy. As we go within and access our intuitive healing abilities, great change can occur. Sometimes it is simply the act of paying caring attention through touch and awareness that permits an area of tension to release. Other times, more specific techniques are needed, such as acupressure, effleurage, trigger point, or deep tissue work. I incorporate all these modalities, and more, as is necessary in each session.
My goal as a body-centered therapist is to create a space in the body-mind to experience limitless possibilities for healing, growth, and understanding.

Private Sessions
I hold a Masters’ degree in psychology, and my academic training has taught me the importance of self-awareness and connection to psyche. In a bodywork session, we may explore your dreams, intuitions, or free-associations. Or, we may remain silent, holding the emptiness like it is an exquisite bowl ready to be filled with peace or softness. I received training in Somatic therapies such as breathwork and authentic movement. I am also a student of Rosen Method, a gentle modality which seeks to promote softening and insight into areas of holding in the musculature.
Additionally, I am certified as Acupressurist, and incorporate Traditional Chinese Medicine principles into my session. Using the meridian system, I stimulate potent points to encourage balance in the body’s chi (life energy) flow. I use gentle jin shin, deeper shiatsu, and stimulating tui na techniques as needed. I am also trained in 5-Element healing, which is uses specific points in each Element of Fire, Earth, Water, Metal, and Wood, to restore symbiosis to any imbalances as assessed through pulse diagnosis.
I am also certified in Swedish Massage, and worked in a chiropractic office for four years, learning specific techniques to enable release of muscular-skeletal holding. Deep tissue, trigger point, and joint mobilization are used to encourage more range of motion and softening of muscle tension. I specialize in treating issues related to computer use and ergonomic concerns.
I remain centered through my practices of yoga, journaling and altar-making. I have studied Thai Yoga Massage, and incorporate these stretches into table massage as appropriate. I often recommend specific yoga postures to clients to facilitate healing in certain areas.
I end each session with energetic chakra balancing so peace feels complete on the spiritual, as well as the physical, level.
